The Kardashians: Premiere Episode Recap

Since the end of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2020, it seemed as if the show was never going to come back. The show went on for 20 consecutive seasons, which brought fans closer than ever to the Kardashians. Although it may have seemed that the Kardashinas were never going to come back, they do what they always do, come back in style and better than ever.
Three months after the signing off of the Kardashians, it was revealed by Disney that the family had signed a deal to produce “new global content” for Hulu. No one really knew what this meant, as there was no say, if there would actually be a new Kardashians show. Little did we know it would be a complete reset on how the Kardshians would share their lives.
After their 10-month absence they are finally back, with new romances and more drama. The show takes on more of a documentary persona this time than an actual reality show. Now let’s get into the show’s premiere.
The show started off with Kendall Jenner announcing her absence from the first few episodes because she was sick. In a later episode it was mentioned that she actually had covid during this time but during filming they did not know this information. The whole family then meets up at Kim’s house for a barbecue, in which there is a huge ball pit and silver serving trays. A few of them can be seen sitting in the kitchen when Kylie arrives. Kylie is currently pregnant by long time boyfriend Travis Scott. Kim then predicts that she is having a baby boy as she is carrying differently then last time when she had a girl. A few months later we know that Kims predictions were indeed correct as she had a boy. Khloe then arrives at the house with Tristian, where Kris Jenner meets the two of them.
While in the kitchen, the first major plot line comes about, with Kim announcing that she will be hosting the iconic Saturday Night Live to her family. However, Saint decided he has more in store for Kim. He walks over to Kim to reveal what is on his iPad, he shows her Kim’s “cry face” and there is mention of a new s*x tape. Saint cannot read yet, so he thinks it’s funny and cool that his mom is a character on the game he is looking at, however he doesn’t realize the true horrificness of this situation. Kim proceeds to grab the ipad out of his hands and claims she is going to sue Roblox.
She immediately gets her lawyers on the case, while she is still trying to prepare for SNL. It’s at this very moment where she mentions Pete Davidson for the very first time. The point in which they met was when they were both at the Met Gala. As many of you know later on there would be a romance sparking up between Kim and Pete.
Throughout the whole episode Kim claims she “isn’t funny”. However, throughout the whole episode she is quick to make jokes which show just how funny she actually is. Of course, she isn’t no Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle but she is pretty funny. The whole family also comforts her the whole show telling her she is indeed funny, and she had nothing to worry about relating to SNL.
Kravis:
One of the biggest things that was going on during this episode was the whole Kravis situation. To give a little in sight Kravis is the relationship between Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Kris saw this relationship coming, as they have been friends for a very long time, but it seems as if other family members had no idea this would occur.
On their first date they went on a movie date, but it is unknown as to which movie they saw. It then flashforwards, to them in Travis’s studio, which appears to be a bikeshop, since there is an unusual amount of bikes in there. While there he and Kourtney’s daughter Penelope do a drum off, to where he says he sees a real future for her in drumming.
It’s also a huge joke within the family, about how much PDA Kravis gives off. They joke that they are constantly making out, even if it is in front of their whole entire family. Even though they do show an immense amount of PDA in this episode, we can really tell just how much Kravis loves each other and that they will be together for a long time.
Not only were we able to see the Kravis relationship, we were also able to get a little Kimye drama. Kim and Kanye are currently separated, but they seem to be doing well within their situation. Kim considers during this episode, as having him as the musical guest, but a lot of the people around her tell her she needs to have her own moment. Kanye also tells Kim that he wants to quit everything to become her personal stylist. Throughout the whole Kimye relationship Kanye dressed her for all of it leaving her not knowing how to dress herself. But ultimately she decides to try and do her own fashion herself.
Toe:
For Tristan and Khloe’s relationship also known as Toe for short they are actually in a really good place as there has been very little drama between them unlike other seasons. They can currently be seen as co-parenting and Tristan also has been going to therapy. The reason he has been going to therapy is because he cheated on her when she was 9 months pregnant as well as many other times, therefore he is trying to stop his old habits.
One of the only ones not in a relationship right now is Scott Disick. At the beginning of the episode when the whole family was together, Scott was the only one left out which made him very sad. He explains that they are his only family and he still wants to be invited to events even though Kourney is dating someone else. Kourtney later on explains how she doesnt understand how this can still be a problem as they have been broken up now for over seven years.
This whole episode surrounds the idea of Kims s*x tape being leaked. She can be seen talking with her lawyer Marty Singer when she is joined by Kris, Khloe, and Kourtney. She then finds out that the Roblox stunt was just the beginning, and there is more to this story then told. Apparently there is another s*x tape out there from 20 years ago that might be released. Khloe then points out that this is a full circle moment as when they were filming their first episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians the Kim was dealing with her first s*x tape as she was getting ready to fly to go be on The Tyra Banks Show. And in the first episode of The Kardashians she is having to deal with additional footage while getting ready to fly to New York to be on Saturday Night Live.
The episode then leaves off having audience members wondering if she will get her tapes back and how her SNL taping will go. The next episode dives deeper into Kim’s time at SNL and the chaos of making a show like SNL. How do you think Kim will do at SNL?
