First Prom

It’s prom month! I am very excited for my very first prom, I have a one of a kind dress (dresses) and a beautiful makeup look for the dance. The theme is Rustic Rodeo and it will be at the National Western Complex (Stock Show) on April 27th.

Dress Decision

This was a hard decision for me because I am very picky and I also need approval before I purchase the dress. I went to multiple stores and tried on multiple dresses but I just couldn’t find one. I found a dress that I was in love with, but my grandma didn’t approve of it. It was see-through lace green with a high slit, but it was too long on me since I am short.

I finally decided on two dresses which are practically the same but different styles. They are both black with green and purple-blue transparent flowers with two leg slits. The first dress has one strap on it with it covering my whole chest and the second dress has spaghetti straps with the top being see-through. I am still deciding on which dress I want to wear.

The whole look is mostly black. I got black nails with my ring finger a purple-blue-ish color, black jewelry and black boots to fit the theme in some way.

Schedule

For prom, I went with my 2 friends who are dating and a girl who I recently became friends with. My family was in Las Vegas so I had to drive to my cousin’s house for her to do my makeup and hair. I left my house at 11 AM for my cousins but the drive there was terrible. The rain made the highways very dangerous and I hated it. I hydroplaned multiple times driving down to Brighton (Louchbie area). Once I got to my cousin’s house, we started with my makeup which took an hour and half, before moving on to my hair which took a good 45 minutes. My whole look was done by 2 pm. Then we went to take individual pictures in front of her house for 15 minutes. After the pictures, I drove home where I layed on my bed to charge my phone and wait until 4 pm when I would drive over to my friend’s house (she lives 30 seconds away).

4 pm came and I drove over to my friends house and waited for everyone to be ready. We left at 4;45 pm to head down to Downtown Denver to the Selfie Museum. We took tons of pictures until 6:40 pm, then we drove over to Littleton for our dinner reservations. We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Littleton, Colorado, because why would I pay $20 for parking in Denver then walk to the restaurant when in Littleton it’s free.

After dinner we headed back to Denver where the prom was being held. We got there at 9:30 pm and stayed there until 11 pm. The dance was pretty boring but being with friends was the fun part. When the dance ended, we drove back down to our neck of the woods where we split paths and called it a night.

Final Look

Overall, I really enjoyed my first prom! Don’t regret the $50 ticket for one second.
