My 23-24 Club Volleyball Season has just begun on November 13th 2023, and is going to last about 6 months. These next 6 months can either be the best or the worst only for 2 reasons.
The reason I’m excited for club to start is because of the work and effort. I go to practice 2 days through out the week, and then have tournaments every Sunday. The best feeling is having to wake up at 4am to leave for a tournament, walking into the Convention Center, where the air is crisp and you get to see your breath. Spending hundreds of dollars on hoodies and gear. Those overpriced acai bowls and smoothies that you will never finish. Then the feeling of setting your gear down and putting your shoes and knee pads on to go warm up for the first game of the day, continuing the same routine for almost 12 hours every Sunday for the next 6 months.
Club Volleyball is a large commitment, I practice 9 hours every week and condition and train each practice. Practice goes non-stop, no breaks, but it’s all worth it in the long run. You improve, you learn, and you create the strongest of bonds that you can have with the people on your team. You become apart of the community and become known to everyone around you.
Goodluck to all those playing club volleyball this season!
