The Buff’s played their spring game on April 25, 2023. It was time the spring game was sold out. The attendance of fans was 47,277 which is the most the Buffs have had in their last two games combined. So what is the hype around the Buffs this year?

Well Coach Prime AKA Deion Sanders took over as head coach late last year. He is well-known for his team at Jackson State University. CU made a five-year contract that will pay him $29.5 million dollars total. This means he will make $5.5 million dollars in his first year. Why is CU paying so much for this coach? Well, he was a multi-sport athlete. He is the only person to have played in a Super Bowl and a World Series. Furthermore, he won two Super Bowls, one with the Dallas Cowboys and the other with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was known as the “return man” and the “shutdown corner.” He was unstoppable during his incredible career. After he retired, he began coaching college teams. December 22, 2022, was when it was announced that he would be coming to Denver. So what does this mean for the Buffs?

In the 2022 football season, the CU Buffs had a record of 1-8. They only won one game the entire season in the Pac-12 Division. So far, Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) has brought several players with him from JSU to Colorado. But it didn’t end there. Since he took over as head coach, a total of 23 players have hit the transfer portal and are making their way to Denver to play for Deion.

Coach Prime is not shy around the press. He makes his goals and thoughts very clear to everyone. He is not one to mess around with and his confidence shows. He will make the CU Buffs a better team and hopefully a contender for the playoffs this upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates and information. Sko Buffs!
