Spooky Things To Do Around Halloween

Spooky Things To Do Around Halloween

Erika Lewis

Halloween is just around the corner and it’s time to make the most of this spooky season. There are so many fun activities to do to celebrate, but if you aren’t sure what to do, I have some fun activity ideas!

Trick-or-Treat

Going door to door demanding candy is always a fun activity, but on Halloween night it’s actually considered “non-threatening” and “normal”. Because of that, I try to take advantage of it every single year.

Carve Pumpkins

Carving Pumpkins is a fun activity to do alone or with family! Fun tip: if you’re not able to get pumpkins you can literally carve ANYTHING! Okay… maybe not anything, there are some things that if you carve them, you might be frowned upon by society and the law. But, I’ll let you use your best judgment for that.

Dress Up

You can dress up as anyone or anything you want. You can be a Vampire and talk in a corny accent (although that wouldn’t be new for you). You can be a witch and cook questionable things (not that you don’t already do that). Or you could be a ghost and run around in a white sheet (although I know you already do that in private).

Visit the Halloween Store and Look at Decorations

If you’re feeling adventurous check out the local Halloween store. They’ve got all sorts of spooky decorations and costumes, but don’t worry, you need not be afraid because you’ll be the scariest looking thing there.

Play Scary Pranks

Maybe turn the lights on and off at random points. Open windows when nobody’s looking. Maybe write threatening messages on the mirror. At least, those are things my roommate does to me. Oh wait… I don’t have a roommate.

Speak to/Summon the Spirits

This is the perfect chance to call on the spirits on the other side of the portal. They love this time of year because they blend in perfectly. Just don’t call Sir Murder Man, he’s not loyal. He was haunting other people while also haunting me. What a player!

Go to a Costume Party

These are always fun things to attend. However, in order to have a party you need friends. If you do get invited to one however I would be careful to dress up as something you wouldn’t mind being stuck as if some evil warlock is in an angry mood.

Visit the Pumpkin Patch

There are so many different pumpkins to pick that will make great decorations. Just be careful because spiders really like creeping around the area and sometimes they’ve already claimed the pumpkin you want.

Go to a Haunted House

You could pay money to go and tour a tacky haunted house or you could come to mine for free. I’ll just give you a heads up, the last person who came, made me pay for his therapy. Turns out almost getting murdered by a vengful spirit is traumatizing.

Watch Horror Movies

You can watch them or you can star in them! Although I would recommend that you make sure it’s in fact a movie and not real life. Made that mistake once and was almost killed by some guy with a weird mask.

Eat Yummy Treats

SOme good fall treats are caramel apples, hot cider, candy corn, or that slime in the back of the fridge. I’m not sure what it actually was but it looked scary enough. Now that I’m looking back, it was probably just Aunt Linda’s cooking.

As you can see, there are so many fun things to do. Just remember to be careful when doing all of these. They can turn scary real fast.
