The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide fought hard in a nail biting game on Monday January 10, 2022 that determined the winner of the 2022 NCAA championship. The game was held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where thousands of fans cheered on these two outstanding college football teams. The Bulldogs clenched their first championship title since 1980, and the final was 33-18.

Game Breakdown:

The first quarter was simply a performance of who can kick the most field goals but as the second half approached the Bulldogs created huge plays on offense and defense that led them to winning the game. During the final 30 minutes of the game Georgia’s quarterback, Stetson Bennett, threw two touchdown passes and completed 17 of 26 passes for 224 yards. Their defense also played a big role in the final score. The Bulldogs dense picked off Alabama quarterback Bryce Young in the fourth quarter, and the defensive back Kelee Ringo returned for 79 yards for the cherry on top for Georgia’s score putting them up 33-18. The Bulldogs scored the game’s final 3 touchdowns. Congratulations to the Dawgs and their fans for their new title!

Pre-game Stats:

Prior to the championship, Alabama was ranked number one with an overall record of 13-2. Georgia, ranked number three, improved to 14-1 overall. At the beginning of the season, Bama swept out Miami 44-13. All eyes were on the young quarterback, Bryce Young, and he had no problem showing up. At the start of his career, he threw 27 out of 38 passes with a total of 344 yards including 4 touchdown passes. As for his line, running back Brian Robinson ran 60 yards and 12 carriers. These two players are one of the great players that made a difference for theAlabama team. Now for the Georgia fans! Georgia has worked tremendously hard, with their freshman players, to prepare them for the real game speed and intensity. Adonai Mitchell, Brock Bowers, Broderick Jones, Ladd McConkey, and Sedrick Van Pran are all freshmen that amplified their performance making the line even stronger. The players and coaching staff deserve all the credit for focusing on the entire team’s success.
