Sweetening The Holidays

Marley Franklin, Culture and Relations Team

During the holiday season, one of the most fun activities to do is make delicious desserts. Spending memorable times in the kitchen with your family, making some of your most favorable desserts, is one of the best things about this time of year. Cooking with grandma while listening to the best Christmas songs is something you’ll never forget. Hopefully this recipe can help build bonds and goofing off during the holidays. Here is a recipe for traditional sugar cookies to make it a bit warmer.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Get a big mixing bowl

Add 2 ¾ cups of flour

Grab a teaspoon

Add ½ teaspoon baking powder

Add 1 cup butter softened

Add 1 ½  cups white sugar

Put in one egg

Put in one teaspoon vanilla extract

Bake for ten minutes

Add icing or sprinkles for a more festive cookie. I hope these instructions make your holidays a bit more fun. Enjoy your break, and stay warm.
