Recap of my Hawaii trip! This past winter break on December 18th I went to Oahu, Honolulu. It was an amazing experience especially going around Chritsmas time we had a blast. Oahu, often called the “Gathering Place” is the third largest island in Hawaii and is home to about two thirds of the state’s population. This island is renowned for its stunning beaches, including the world famous Waikiki Beach, and its historical landmarks like Pearl Harbor. The capital city, Honolulu, located on Oahu, serves as Hawaii’s economic and cultural hub. It is a bustling metropolis that blends modernity with rich history, featuring sites such as Iolani Palace, the royal palace, tropical climate and diverse attractions. Oahu and Honolulu offer a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage and urban excitement.
Reasoning why my boyfriend, his mom, and I went on this trip was because, my boyfriend was invited to a huge event called the Tiki Bowl, this was an event for football that only the best players get invited to go have an experience of a lifetime and to give these players a shot at playing on a next level base. The players were allowed to pick the position they wished to play and then got a whole new team with boys each of them had never met before and got the chance to play with others from different backgrounds, states, football teams, etc. It was an amazing experience watching my boyfriend be so happy playing the sport he once loved and getting his spark back with teammates he’s never even met before. He made so many new trusted friends and with an experience he needed for himself, he went there and did his job by doing what he needed to do which was playing his best game in the Tiki Bowl Championships. We all had a blast there and left with many memories and many new friends as well as Caiden leaving with a 95% offer from one of the coaches after day one practice.
Overall, the trip was so much fun and I would most definitely go back to that island. Fun fact, my boyfriend and I have been to two islands within the past 2 years. We first went to the island Kaui, Hawaii for our first trip back in June 2023 and that trip was just for vacation and fun. Then this trip we visited Oahu, Hawaii for his football trip. When we went to Kaui we stayed at this big fancy resort that was located on a beach with beautiful views. My boyfriend’s mom also booked us for a boat tour of the island where we went on a speed boat across the ocean to see where Jurassic Park was filmed. It was amazing. Both trips were so much fun with lots of memories made on both islands.
