HHS Hawk Love Writing Competition

This month, Horizon High School’s Journalism class is hosting a writing competition following the prompt of “What does love mean to you?” The requirements for the competition are as follows: Submissions must be at least 500 words long and are due February 5th at 3pm.

The winner of the competition will receive a twenty dollar Visa Gift Card and their writing will be published to The Profile.

Use the QR code above to submit your pieces, they will be reviewed by the Journalism staff and the winner will be announced at Horizon’s “Hawk Love” assembly.

Hello there, Profile viewers! My name is Dianna Foster, however my friends call me February. I’m sixteen years old and a senior here at Horizon. I’m involved in German National Honors Society, Theatre, and of course Journalism. When I was younger I had skipped a grade of school entirely, which led to me being a year younger than most of my peers. I tend to flip between hobbies, but I prefer to do a lot of creation and fantasy gaming. I spend a lot of time on social media if I’m not indulging any hobby, mostly on TikTok or streaming on Twitch. I listen to literally any kind of music, but as of September of 2024 I’ve been mostly listening to Hozier and folk style music.
