Did you know there is a whole meaning of Christmas? Christmas Day is the day Jesus Christ was born.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. In other words, the Messiah. The birth of Jesus is one of my favorite stories in the Bible.
In Nazareth, there was a beautiful woman who was a virgin. Her name was Mary and she was married to a man named Joseph, Son of David. One day in a village, an Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. Telling her she would behold a son.
Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. -Luke 1:30-31
While she questioned how she could be pregnant if she was a virgin. She would still have Faith and follow what was granted. On the other hand, Joseph was confused. How could a virgin have a baby? Until the angel appeared to him, explaining Mary’s condition.
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is out of the Holy Spirit.” -Matthew 1:20-21
A few days before the birth, Joseph and Mary traveled on a donkey to Bethlehem. Once they arrived, they went into a hay stable for the birth since the inn was too crowded. With animals surrounding, the baby was born under a bright star. Mary then wrapped him in cloth and placed him in a manger to rest. After the birth, 3 men saw the star and followed it, until they came upon Baby Jesus.
And asked, “Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him”. -Matthew 2:2
The Star of Bethlehem.
Christmas Day is not only a day for love and gifts. It’s also the day Jesus Christ was born.
