Do you love spending money? Well, I do and the most important day to do that is Black Friday. Almost everything is on sale for a good price. This annual event takes place in a multitude of stores around the country. Christmas shopping is usually done on this day. Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving.
A little bit of history on this event. Back in the 1950s, Philadelphia police used the term ‘black friday’ as a way to express the chaotic events occurring the day after Thanksgiving. Tourists and shoppers would flood in the city for the Navy vs Army football game. This is when shoplifters would take advantage of the stores. Through the years, Black Friday had become a tradition in Philadelphia which spread across the country.
A multitude of stores participate in this annual event. Shoppers even start on Thanksgiving for a headstart on the sales. Early morning shoppers line up at the doors to get out of waiting. Stores that participate in Black Friday are JcPenney, Macy’s, Walmart, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and other retail stores. These stores open up very early in the morning then close very late at night. This day is a huge day for retail stores because this is when they have the most business. Black Friday deals start online almost a month before the day.
Black Friday is a one of a kind type of day for those who love spending money. It’s the best day to gather your gifts for loved ones for Christmas at an amazing price. Here’s a friendly reminder for the day, don’t forget your bags!
