The time to apply for colleges has started. I was very excited to apply for colleges and wait for the decisions they made on my behalf. Now as I get letters of acceptance, the reality of me moving away all sets in with every college. I am planning on attending a 4 year college with a Bachelors in English or Journalism. I would like to receive a Minor in Sports Management as well, but my Bachelors comes first. For Colorado’s Free App Day, I applied to a few of the colleges on the list as well as colleges out of state.
I got accepted into CMU on October 18, 2024, with a First Generation Scholarship. My major would be English (Bachelor of Arts). It’s 4 hours away from my home, so I wouldn’t be too far but I won’t be close. Acceptance rate 78%.
I got accepted into CSU on October 19, 2024. My major would be English/Literature. I have been to this school many times and I do like the vibe here, but I am still going to wait. It’s only an hour away from my house so it is very close. Acceptance rate 90%.
Colorado State University Pueblo
I got accepted into CSU Pueblo on October 17, 2024. My major would be English. I’ve only been to Pueblo once in my life, I really liked the scenery. I think I would enjoy being here while still being pretty close to my home. It’s only 2 hours away. Acceptance rate 98.8%.
University of Colorado Colorado Springs
I got accepted into UCCS on October 18, 2024. My major would be Communication- Sport Communication. I love Colorado Springs and I could see myself falling in love with this place. It’s only 2 hours away so I wouldn’t be far. It’s not a huge university either which I believe I would enjoy. Acceptance rate 96.6%.
I got accepted into Western on October 16, 2024. My major would be English. This was the first school I got accepted into. I’ve only been to Gunnison once in my life and I remember it being just a mountain. Which I would love because I love the mountains. I know this isn’t a huge school either, which is better for me. It’s only 4 hours away from my home as well. Acceptance rate 97.5%.
I got accepted into MSU on October 25, 2024. My major would be English- Writing. I have never been to Montana before but I will be going soon to visit this school. It’s a very beautiful place and a really good school, I’ve been told. Acceptance rate 76.4%.
With all these colleges accepting me, I am still going to wait for more options. I have a number one school I would like to go to but I haven’t been accepted yet. I am still waiting for responses from University of Denver (70.6%), Colorado College (16%), Regis University (76%), Wichita State University (62%), Creighton University (78%), University of Notre Dame (16.5%), and Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana (81%).
