Who is the Host this Year?

The Met Gala this year will be hosted by actor Penelope Cruz, singer Dua Lipa, actor Michaela Coel, and athlete Roger Federer. There is an abundance of hosts this year, so it will be interesting to see their perspectives on the outfits and the night as a whole.

What is the Met Gala?

The Met Gala is held every single year on the first Monday of May. The Met Gala is a charity benefit held by the Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to fundraise for the museum. Designers create amazing outfits that are unforgettable that connect extremely well to the theme. Also in case you didn’t know, the Met Gala has a theme every single year. The theme can go anywhere from CAMP to Balenciaga. The event also marks the beginning of the MET’s spring display. 

When is the Met Gala 2023?

Honoring the tradition of the event being held on the first Monday in May, the event will be held on May 1, 2023. The public display will be open from May 5 to July 16. If you are a fashion enthusiast this is a must see. 

What is the Theme? 

The Met Gala 2023 theme will honor the famous designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was known for being a creative director of Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld was truly an icon, therefore, we will be seeing A LOT of Chanel for the Gala.  The announcement of the theme was made by Pharrell Williams, who is one of Chanel’s most well-known ambassadors and collaborators.
