2021-2022 Upcoming Boys Basketball Season

This basketball season is looking promising for the Varsity boys basketball team with an 8-2 record and being 18th in the state and ranked 7th for all 5A schools (MaxPreps). So far, the team has played a total of 10 non-conference games since the end of November. So far these boys have only lost against Denver East with a final score of 60-58 and Chaparral with a score of 66-48. Their most recent game took place on January 5th against Northglenn High School, Horizon with the win, 70-52. This years varsity team consists of,

In addition, the new head Coach Brandon Brown, who leads alongside assistant coaches David Lawrence, Greg Rau, Jeremy Towers, and Taylor Hayes. Furthermore, in a brief interview with player and senior Esmond Griffin he states, “I think that this season will go really well. We have had a lot of practice and extra practice without preseason games. We have also had extra time to get to know each other and the new coaching staff.” This commentary proves that these players have great confidence in their season and in each other.
This season will officially start on January 15th against Mead high school, who we have already played and beat during our preseason games. The next game will be held at Monarch Highschool on January 14th at 6:30pm. Hawk Nation is excited to see where the season takes these players and we hope to see all of our Hawk basketball fans there and ready to cheer on the boys, while they take the win. Go Hawks!
