After almost a whole year of waiting, Star Wars fans were pleasantly surprised to wake up November 1st to the trailer for the show The Book of Boba Fett. 

After the credits of the last episode of The Mandalorian Season 2, there was a very brief teaser for a new show called The Book of Boba Fett. Since then fans have anxiously been awaiting any news about it. Finally, after months and months of waiting a teaser trailer was dropped for the show. 

For starters, the most important thing that was released in the trailer was the day that the show is going to start streaming on Disney+. It was announced that the first episode of the show is going to be released on December 29, 2021. This is the New Years’ gift Star Wars fans needed. However, along with the date it’s going to release there were also several familiar and new things shown that had many fans intrigued. 

The first familiar thing was obviously the characters. The movie is starring the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett who is being played by Temuera Morrison. In Star Wars Temuera Morrison is well known as the one who played Jango Fett along with the other clone troopers in the prequel trilogy. Boba Fett was first seen in the 1878 Holiday Special but is also seen in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Attack of the Clones, The Clone Wars TV show, The Mandalorian, and a lot more. The other main character is Fennec Shand who is being played by Ming-Na Wen. The character Fennec first made an appearance in the Mandalorian season one but later returned in season two and made an appearance in the recent show The Bad Batch. Both of the ruthless Bounty Hunters, as we saw in the Mandalorian, make a deadly duo, and seeing them work together through an entire show will be interesting. 

Something else that was familiar is the setting. We had the chance to see not only Tatooine but also Jabba the Hutt’s Palace. Now, Tatooine is probably one of the most popular planets in Star Wars. It first makes an appearance in A New Hope as it is the home of Luke Skywalker, the main protagonist of the original trilogy. It later shows up several times throughout the movies when it is revealed to have also been the home to Anakin Skywalker and where several large events in Anakin’s life took place. 

The other place, as previously mentioned, is Jabba the Hutt’s palace which was now claimed by Boba Fett. One of the most popular appearances of Jabba the Hutt’s palace was in Return of the Jedi as it’s where the first third of the movie takes place. However, when Jabba inhabited the palace it was a lot messier than what we see in the trailer. It’s apparent that Boba and Fennec cleaned the place up a bit. 

Those were just some of the familiar things and I’m sure there are many more familiar things that will make an appearance during the show. Many fans are hoping that the infamous Bounty Hunter, Cad Bane, is going to make an appearance to settle things with Boba Fett. Along with Bane, there are several other characters people are hoping to see and we can only hope they happen. 

It’s sad that we’re going to have to wait just under two months for the show to start streaming but it will definitely be worth it. Don’t forget the show will stream on December 29th but until then may the force be with you!
