January 3,  2020 marked the one year anniversary death of Iranina General Qassem Soleimani, the leader of Iran backed military force “Popular Mobilization Force ” in Baghdad, Iraq. On January 3, 2021, thousands of Iranians rallied on the street in remembrance of the death of their general.

The Iranians demanded revenge for their general, shouting anti-American slogans such as “No, no to America!¨ and signs that read “You killed our guest, there is no welcome for you here in our embassy!”. Protestors demanded the expulsion of U.S. troops in Iran as they burned the U.S. flag chanting.

At the time, Iran retaliated by launching a barrage of ballistic missiles targeting two bases housing US troops in Iraq that caused concussion injuries to about 100 of them.

“Today, we have no problem, concern or apprehension toward encountering any powers. We will give our final words to our enemies on the battlefield,” Salami said, without citing the US directly.

The Trump administration has already sent B-52 bomber flyovers and sent a nuclear submarine into the Persian gulf on what Trump officials call a possible Iranian attack.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Official told NBC news that they predict Iran has been planning an attack due to increasing indications.

The Official who spoke out chose to do so with anonymity, acknowledging the reading Iran’s intentions were both ¨ difficult and at times unpredictable”.
