With the year coming to an end, excitement rings as Joseph Robinette Biden will be sworn into office on January 20, 2021. Unfortunately, the pandemic is not over so how will Inauguration Day look like amidst a pandemic? Not all the facts on how the day will look like are known at this time but there are some things we do know.

Inauguration During a Pandemic.

One thing that has not changed has been the date. January 20,2021 is the official date President-Elect Joe Biden will be sworn into office. Regardless of the rising numbers of cases happening the date will remain the same. Furthermore, construction has not been delayed but rather has already started. Currently the platform is being built and parts of Lafayette Square are closed off. Pennsylvania Avenue is also closed to start correction for the parade to come. As of right now the Inauguration is still taking place and is being planned accordingly. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies said in an interview “ The health and safety of our guests is our top priority.”

Will there be a vaccine out before Joe Biden is sworn in?

While it is unknown when a vaccine will be shipped out for distribution one thing we do know is the President Elects goals within his first 100 days of presidency. He vows to have 100 million vaccinations injected in his first 100 days. As well as, the majority of schools reopen safely. There are many unanswered questions. Will people attending the Inauguration have a chance to be vaccinated? Will the vaccination come out in time. If no one has been injected by inauguration will they make it a closed ceremony. The new White House team is taking COVID precautions very seriously. While it is an important event in history over 300,000 people have lost their lives due to this deadly virus.
