Homecoming 2019 Spirit Days

Homecoming is an exciting day for most students. It’s a day where girls and boys can dress up, take photos, and dance with a bunch of friends. That’s why homecoming week is so much fun! You get to dress up in cool outfits the week before the dance. It’s very fun to get involved with the school and share the unique outfits students pick together. The spirit days for the homecoming are listed below.

Monday, October 14th: Class Colors

The first day of Homecoming week is Class Colors Day. On this day, Freshman should wear Maroon, Sophomores wear Grey, Juniors wear white, and Seniors wear black. Walking through the halls will look really cool to see everyone supporting the colors of Horizon.

Tuesday, October 15th: Tacky Tourist Day

The second day of Spirit week is Tacky Tourist Day. On this day, students can wear anything they think a common, stereotypical tourist would wear. Some students will wear a fanny pack or they will even put sunscreen on the bridge of their nose.

Wednesday, October 16th: Hippie Day

The third day of Homecoming week is Hippie Day. On this day, students can wear anything they think is hippie-like, some funky pants and maybe some cool glasses. Rio Teuber (‘21) says that she is very excited for this day and is ready to wear her favorite glasses for this day.

Thursday, October 17th: VSCO vs Frat

The fourth day of Spirit week is VSCO vs Frat. On this day, students can choose whether or not if they want to dress like a Frat boy or a VSCO girl. Keira Stueven (‘21) says that she is excited to see the hallways filled with some VSCO outfits, “I’m excited for this day because it will be funny to see people walking through the hallway dropping their hydro flasks”.

Friday, October 18th: Hawaiian Day

The last day before the dance is Hawaiian day. This day, students can wear some lei’s and flowery shirts. This is actually the theme of our dance. This day is important to dress out because it is the day of our assembly and this shows the School Spirit we have.

Participating in things like Spirit Days actually benefits you as a student. You get involved with the school and it’s a lot of fun to dress up and take pictures with your friends.
